Historia de Sesto
Where it all began
Tienda Sesto first opened its doors in 1928, by the grace and mercy of God, the businesses' doors have never closed since.
The founder of Tienda Sesto was Mr. Agustin Sesto Sr. He was a young man who arrived in Aguadilla from Galicia, Spain. He established his family & business and remained in Aguadilla until he passed. Creating a part of the history and culture of this town. The store was originally opened as Las Novedades, it was the people of Aguadilla that gave it its current name. Instead of referring to the store as Las Novedades, they referred to it as the owners last name (which is a common cultural practice). The store went from Las Novedades, to La casa de Sesto to Tienda Sesto. This store was a cultural hub for many, school shopping, getting the material to make the school uniforms etc…
Upon Mr. Sesto’s passing in the 1970's, it was his son Agustin Sesto Jr. (our friend) who continued with his fathers legacy since 1975. He was his own character and well known for his very candid sense of humor. Agustin passed away in July of 2019. It is for us the greatest honor to be able to keep Tienda Sesto open and continue this legacy established by the Sesto Family.

Our Story
We are Kevin & Maria VannReyes. We love our island, our culture and its people. We were both born and raised in Newburgh, New York. At the young age of 8, Kevin’s life was transformed by the influence of a humble family coming from Las Marias, Puerto Rico. It was at this young age that he fell in love with Puerto Rico. It’s a beautiful thing to be able to experience the impact that our people have throughout the world.
Maria is a proud Puerto Rican born into a family that had to leave Puerto Rico in the 50’s, but Puerto Rico never left them! Her father was born in Arecibo and mother was born in Lares.
Our upbringing and love for our island and its people has always kept us connected. It was during a visit in 2014 that we first met Agustin Jr. An experience that has truly changed our lives and which caused us to now call Aguadilla home.
The name VannReyes Kevin Vann and Maria Reyes married in 2016 and became VannReyes. Breaking Generational curses and becoming one. (VannReyes).
Our Mission
Our mission is to continue this great legacy established by Agustin Sesto Sr. & Family. Support Tourism, Support Local Commerce and help our local Puerto Rican Community. We are a family owned & Christ centered business.

Continue to promote our beautiful culture worldwide, while being a voice for our local community. Continue to promote and support local artisans/ local organizations/ growth of our people.. Connection of the diaspora and reaching those who have not been as fortunate to come back home.
